Polly Limond Dressage and Working Equitation
About Me
I have been a dressage rider and trainer in the San Diego CA area since the early 1980's, and now have moved to central North Carolina. In 2004 I began importing horses for myself and clients from Germany, and have since expanded my contacts to Portugal, Spain, Netherlands and France. I have imported over 30 horses since then, including the German Riding Pony stallion Lateran, who I bred to imported mares to produce 6 premium foals, including 4 stallion prospects. I trained and showed Lateran through Intermediare 1 and then he was sold to a para rider who competed him at the 2010 WEG in Kentucky.
I am a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist, and Silver Freestyle medalist. Having trained several horses successfully through Intermediare, I have won Regional and National Championships on self trained horses and coached several students to regional championships and lifetime rider medals.
In 2016 I caught the Working Equitation fever, and have since earned my Bronze and Silver Medals on several self-trained horses. In 2017, 2018 and 2019 I finished the show year in the top ten on 4 different horses with consistent scores up to 80% through level 5. I placed 3rd in the Novice A level at the 2017 WE United National Championship show and was a member of the Gold medal winning team at that same show. At the 2019 North American Championship Show I placed 5th in Level 4 on a green horse, and was the Open Level 5 Champion at the 2021 Region 2 Championships.
I am a USDF L graduate with distinction, and have judged many local schooling shows, dressage, eventing dressage, western dressage and obstacle challenges since 2007.
In 2017 I earned an "r" designation with WE United, earned my R judges card in 2018 and my S designation in 2019. I am a current S judge and licensed Technical Delegate for USAWE.
I served on the WE United executive board for 4 years as 2017 Region 2 Director, 2018 President Elect, 2019 President, and 2020 Past President. I served on the Working Equitation Merger Board of Directors in 2020 to help facilitate the merger of WE United and the Confederation for Working Equitation into USAWE, and was on the Licensed Officials merger committee. I currently serve on the USAWE Dressage test committee, helping to rewrite the National Working Equitation Dressage Tests. I currently serve on the "S Team" as a consultant to the Licensed Officials Committee, the Rules committee, and the Professional Instructor's Commitee.
